6 years ago, I started Windsor's Lift Body Center as an office focussing on minimally invasive technology based body contouring. In a very short period of time, I was performing several procedures every day. In fact, I was doing more liposuction procedures in one month than most cosmetic surgeons performed in a year. In the process, I got very good at what I did. I was able to learn from every case and use technology to maximize patient outcomes and minimize down time. I was also able to discover new techniques and better ways of doing things. The reason I was able to get the results that I did was because of specialization. Like anything else, the more you do of anything, the better you get. This is a universal truth beyond cosmetics. The way you become the best at what you do is to focus on it.
Most plastic or facial plastic surgeons do not specialize exclusively in cosmetic surgery. In order to make a living, most surgeons do a combination of insurance based work such as managing diabetic foot ulcers and burn unit work which has nothing to do with cosmetic surgery. For this reason, although they may be skilled physicians in other ways, they may not be the best choice for your cosmetic procedure.
